• How does Team Formation work? 

Teams are formed through discussions with the Directors of Coaching and the Coaching Staffs. These discussions will use information gathered at Evaluations along with previous understanding of players and teams to determine the best placement for players. Requests for playing up and specific team placements by parents and coaches will be taken into consideration, but cannot be guaranteed. 

• When will I know what team my child is on?

As soon as Evaluations are completed and Team Formations have been finalized, players and parents will be notified of what team players have been placed on, on a team by team basis. Some teams may need additional Evaluation sessions dependent on player absences for the currently scheduled sessions. 

• I want to request my child play with an older team. What should I do? 

If you would like your child to play up, please submit a request to DOC@rhsoccer.org. Our Directors of Coaching will use time during the scheduled Evaluations or set up a separate Evaluation to see your child with the requested team. Play up requests are not guarantees that your child is moving up an age group. All determinations are made with safety and player development in mind. 

• I disagree with my child's team placement. Who do I contact?
